Hilbre and Wirral coast rescues

People get cut off near Hilbre when they start back too late and the tide fills the channels between the islands faster than they expect. This log lists the RNLI and HM Coastguard incidents we have summarised, newest first, each linked to the original report. Read what to do if you are cut off, the route and safety guide, or today’s calculated crossing window, which is an estimate, not permission to cross.

If anyone is in danger or rescue is needed, call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard. Call 999
